Hello, you that came on my page !
It's with a great pleasure that I realize that what I post recently on DA has a modest success. People start to ask my about commissions and stuff, so I need to make things clear.
First of all, the images I use, to (re)create all the members of the DC or Wildstorm Universe, are not mine ! It's all Phil Bourassa ( philbourassa.deviantart.com ) or Jerome K. Moore ( jerome-k-moore.deviantart.com ) 's amazing works on Young Justice, not to mention all the screenshots of the animated serie I used. So, it's clear in my mind that those pictures are theirs, and that most of the little "success" I have is due to the amazing work they have done. I decided to do some "Young Justice art" after seeing SalimRyem's gallery ( ryemsalim.deviantart.com ) This guy is doing great things, with Phil Bourassa's work or with his own style, you should check it out ! ^^
Secondly, I have to explain what I do. I use Photoshop to recreate the many outfits of DC's most famous superheroes.
I'll start with the exemple of Batman, by Phil Bourassa ( philbourassa.deviantart.com/ar… )
I first have to clean the image, because sometime, it's not a good resolution. It can take time.
Then, most of the time, I separate every part of the costume (gloves, mask, face, boots, belt) on different layers. For Batman, and for Superman, I created a grey body, erasing all details, keeping only the shape of muscles and joints. Then it's pretty easy to use that grey body, by changing color, saturation, size, etc. When I have my body, I can had details. I draw most of them with my mouse or my girlfriend's tablet. I use belts, gloves, capes, masks, logos I used before, on other version of the character. The more characters I do, simpler it get to create others. WellÖ It's not that simple, but it helps a lot.
My way of drawing details is particular : I use the Polygonal lasso to create a form. I color it and then use the Blending options of the layer to create a black stroke, so I can correct or re-use the shape of an object whenever I want to.
It's more photomanipulation than drawing sometimes. But it's fun.
Finally, about commissions !
I've already done some, and I can do more. I do them for free, because Phil Bourassa and J.K. Moore's work is not mine !
I do commission based on Young Justice Characters. I like to do OC. I do commission when I have time and motivation.
If you ask me a commission, please ask me one or two characters at a time. Don't ask me for an entire universe ^^
For now, I have already some commissions waiting. I'll do them if the idea is good, and if I have time. What I mean is that I will certainly post characters that I've done for my own fun before publishing commission ! ^^
And, again, it's not my work, it's Phil Bourassa, Jerome K. Moore and the entire Young Justice team's work !!!
Though, I want to thank every person that fav' one or several of my deviations,Young Justice style or not. When I started to have 30 fav's a day sometime; I just stopped thanks people one by one. I know; I'm an assÖ I really feel uncomfortable with that. But I thank every one of you here. And I answer every comment ! It's easier ! ^^
